Goblin 500 Fiberglass Boom Demo
With the new Goblin 500 currently winging its way to all of those lucky enough to have placed their preorder in time for this first batch, SAB Heli Division have been listening to the feedback from its customers. Some concerns were raised about the price of a replacement carbon fiber boom, being that it is not just a simple tube the price is understandably higher. SAB listened, and as an alternative to the carbn fiber boom they developed a very strong fiberglass boom.
The chances of breaking the stock boom are slim, it is incredibly strong and is mounted with sacrificial bolts. It is designed to break away during a crash, just like the rest of the Goblins. However, if you do find yourself having to replace it, you now have an alternative to the carbon fiber boom, which is just as strong in flight. Don't take my word for it, check out this awesome demo flight by Kyle Stacy using the fiberglass boom.
