This just in from CrackRoll.com contributing editor CSpaced:

In a few short weeks the Raleigh Durham Radio Control club's annual charity fly-in - "Fly For Tots" will be taking place. This event is huge, and pilots from all over the US make the trek to enjoy the event. This time the event is officially for three days, September 17th, 18th, and 18th in the sunny tobacco fields of North Carolina; though many turn up the week before. This year promises to have more vendors, more prizes, and more fun!

The best part of this event is that all the proceeds will be given to "Victory Junction Gang", a getaway camp for chronically ill kids. In 2007 the club raised $17,000, in 2008 an astonishing $28,500! and in 2009 another whopping $27,000!

For more information on the charity, history of the event, and what to expect this year, check out the flyinggiants thread here:
Well, this event is an invasion of R/C Heli enthusiasts for a dramatic weekend of heli fun. If you have never been to a Heli Fun-Fly before, you are missing something quite special, and this event focuses on fun, learning and flying. CrackRoll.com is excited to announce we will be doing video coverage of this event!
Yet, again this year we are taking the Fun-Fly concept one step further and make a grand-event, the mother of all Fun Fly's... an educational entertaining dramatically fun, fun fly the Heli Invasion.
Again this year the event will be held at the Fredericksburg Area RC Club. And if you were there last year you know how awesome a flying site it is, and if you have never been there, get to the event to check it out. The FARCC field is really a great club with amenities that have to be seen to believe. So this year, the Heli Invasion Organizing Committe and and our sponsors, are pulling out all the stops, leveraging all of our friends and industry contacts to bring you a Fun Fly, actually a destination event unlike any other on the East Coast.

Bigger, Better & Badder Than Last Year
With some of the biggest names in the hobby already lined up, this event will probably be one of the best events to see your favorite pilots up close and personal. In addition to the standard noon-time demos, we also will be featuring some unique and exciting "other" events that will really allow you to learn from the pros.

With an international roster, and commitments from many of the major manufacturers this event will be a fun and exciting event, one that will continue to be a mainstay on the Fun-Fly circuit for years to come.

Last year it was one of the biggest heli events on the East Coast. With over 130 pilots, 10+ pros, the Heli-Invasion was and is the biggest and best fun fly in the northeast. And if you've been to it before, you've said you were coming back.

Well I am pleased to finally announce the 2010 Heli-Invasion!!

On October 1 - 3, 2010, the Heli-Invasion will once again take place at Robbie Campbell Memorial Airfield, just outside of Fredericksburg, VA. Which is conveniently located an hour from Washington, DC and Richmond, VA.

Last year's event was second-to-none and featured many of today's hottest pilots, educational seminars and even some unbelievable events. This year's fun fly will be a bigger, badder repeat of last year's event. And with an all new "Do It in the Dark" nighttime show you're not going to want to miss this.

With so many pros to watch and learn from, how could it not be awesome. Already we have confirmed:
Jared Granzow
Marcus Kim
Nick Maxwell
Bert Kammerer
Curtis Youngblood
Henry Caldwell
... and new for 2010... Bobby Watts

And a few more coming in the next few days.

So mark your calendars, get the car packed and head to the 2010 Heli-Invasion.

For more information, directions or lodging info, please see the event website at www.heli-invasion.com.

*** Just Confirmed ***
HeliWholesaler Does It Again!!

Once again, Jeff Green from HeliWholesaler gives big. Well actually I dont know what exactly, but he promises me bigger and better give-aways for the the 2010 HeliInvasion.

Last year HeliWholesaler gave us a Trex 700 LE kit, and this year we're getting something even better... so if you want to see what it is, or better yet win it... come to the 2010 Heli-Invasion. And oh yea, be sure to get your LHS to support HeliWholesaler.
