How much different is it to fly a 5-600 sized heli vs a 450?
I've heard more stable.. what does that mean? less drift? slower?
the reason Im asking is I'm waiting for the black friday online sales to buy a kit... with hopes to (one day soon) mod for Aerial Photo/Videography. nothing too professional, but decent quality.
I've seen it done with a 450 successfully, but... (see above question)
any thoughts?

I have a CopterX 450 (325mm blades) and an SJM430 (430mm blades), and the SJM is much more sedate. It responds less to wind, and doesn't require as much correction to hold in a hover or at a given altitude. Granted, these are entirely different helis, but I think a large part of it IS the size.
Also consider that a bigger heli gives you more room to attach stuff if you're doing photography.

Get a Swift 16 (carbon 550) or Hurricane 550. Awesome bang for the buck. Plus you need to be able to lift more. Bigger helis are more stable and can lift extra weight also they seem to ignore wind more.

thanks for the replies. I ended up getting a trex600. very nice heli.
plus I got a great deal on it.
I've noticed alot of AP folk use the 600 over the raptor. not sure why, but I decided to go with what works.

Could be the raptors used to be nitro only. All that smoke and oil is not good for cameras and pictures. The eraptors are pretty new.
