I got one, trying to fix it after my 1st crash

Just stick with it these are pretty small birds, with a lot of small parts but I learned how everything works on the thing by rebuilding it over and over after dumb thumb moments. Oh well I kind of enjoy the building part of the hobby too!!

I have one too, have had it for about 6 months. All I have to say is if this is you first heli, stock some parts. I would buy some extra main shafts, 2-3 flybar case setss, some extra blades or just buy another belt cp arf, for the spare parts...

So far I love my Belt, the only thing I really hate about it is the transmitter/reciever it came with, it feels twitchy and very cheap... Oh well maybe someday a great new website will have a DX-7 giveaway, that would fix my problem!!!

Been flying mine for about a week now. This is my first RC Heli and I've been having a blast. Just started some nose-in hovering and had my first real crashes. Just the usual broken/bent parts - feathering shaft, flybar, boom, boom support. I think I might need to put the training gear back on for nose-in training...

They are small birds but try learning on a Eagle 50 that was my first bird learned to hover with it when I got my belt I thought it was great. Getting ready to do a full build with the EXI 450 clone of the align I got my belt bling a little cnc head and tail futaba servos. Have a great day Rick.

this is like going to a new school :) slowly finding your way to the class room (this thread :)) meeting all the people you will be chatting to in the future, oh by the way i have a belt cp :) im on my forth set of blades, i have just figured out ff and i am not getting enough good weather cause i live in england :(

When i first opened the box i thought "my god this is massive" as i was used to looking at my stupid century hummingbird and "my god this is so mechanical" as i was used to looking at my stupid century hummingbird :)

Have a question hope that some one can give some input on. I am building a EXI got it all together but when I fired it up to setup the tail the align 40amp esc got real hot fast. Using a 2200mah 25c 3cell lipo battery Scropion HK2221-8 motor and G401 gyro any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thanks and have a great day Rick :blockhead:

I finally got to fly my heli!!! i need to track it tho, it is about a centimetre off so... i also need to tweak the gyro settings as it is wagging the tail a bit

Is anyone having problems with the gyro? I had a slight crash and I can't get it to stop spinning now. Any ideas?

got it tracked today, need to work on the pitch curve and stuff now

Nope. It's not the gyro. It seems like I don't have enough throw to keep it from spinning. Its weird. Any idea's? I think it has to do with the tail section.

erm, can you move the tail one the stick, are you waiting for the gyro to initialise? has the gyro tail servo come unplugged? that caused me to lose a set of blades

I went over all that. Its all good, yet it just spins no matter what. Could it be belt tension? I've tried differnt tensions too. I always wait for the gyro as well. One of my tail blades has a tiny chip on it, that woulden't cause it... would it? I'll try my new tail blades later anyway just to make sure. I also changed the tail servo (to an s3114) and set it up the same as stock. The servo's are all setup too. It just seems that the tail can't keep up. I have training gear on it while I'm getting used to CP, so I can basically try anything without really risking the heli's well being...
Thanks,
Mike

Check the tail gears and make sure that it does not have any stripped teeth mine was spin like that and had one tooth on the front gear spun by the main gear that was skipping causing my tail to spin uncontrollablly have a great day Rick

Howdy all,

Just took the training gear off of mine. Mind you, not by choice. I seem to have broken 3 sets of training gear. Turns out i really didn't need it after all. I've actually switched to an FP for while. Turns out they can take a hit better.

I know what you are thinking, alot of heli's for someone who can't fly. Well the fun for me is fixing them.

nice assortment of helis :)

3Disaster, do you have like a turntable or something? that you can stick your heli on?

if so, put it on and maybe try unplugging the servo and moving it your self, then spinning up, if you need a lot of pitch it must be a drive issue, check the belt for missing teeth etc

3Disaster
09-12-2008, 03:27 PM
No missing teeth. Runs really smooth too. I have no idea whats going on...

vanepico
09-12-2008, 05:20 PM
do you have proper rudder control? the tail rotor moving from one extreme of the tail rotor pitch movement to the other, it may be the imbalance in the tail rotors

3Disaster
09-12-2008, 06:42 PM
I can't get it up. It always piro's un controlably. I do have another set of tail rotors, I'll try that.

Have you adjusted the servo up and down the boom. Takes patience the best way is to mount the helicopter to something that swivels I have found a old turn table to play vinyl records on works great then adjust the servo up and down the boom until the tail holds Hope you get it fixed. Have a great day Rick. Keep us posted.

Hi all having a problem stripping the main gear using a Scorpion hk2221-6 motor with the 11t rhino pinion not crashing or blade striking the main gear just stripps after a couple of lift offs. Any ideas would be appreciated. Have a great day Rick

How tight is the motor in it? If you grab the motor how easy is it to move? Try the paper trick for gear mesh. Get a thin piece of paper and slide it in between the two gears. Tighten up the mesh slowly. If the paper rips its too tight. You want to get as close to that as you can. I learned that from racing r/c cars for a while. Should work just as well for heli's.

I'll echo 3Disaster's comments and add to make sure your engine mounting is secure. Could be fine on the bench, but vibrate loose on flight.

Hi all
I am trying to connect my JR 3810 (8103) to my belt cp but now all the chanells are mixed up and some are mixing together.
Does anyone know where I can get the correct settings for my TX. I am using a corona rx

JR:
Channel 1 is throttle (ESC)
Channel 2 is elevator (is the front cyclic servo)
Channel 3 is aileron (one of the rear cyclics)
Channel 4 is rudder (goes to gyro)
Channel 5 is gyro gain if you have a heading lock gyro
Channel 6 is pitch (the last cyclic servo)

Then after that search finless bob helicopter setup videos on helifreak, you'll need an account to watch the videos
