Figured I should do something constructive to help get the forum going, let this be an "official" Phoenix flightsim couch discussion. Ask, answer, blabber whatever you want!
Go for it!
It would be nice to have a sub forum for Phoenix.

It would, but not the end of the world I suppose? Hehehe. Guess there's not much for the Phoenix guys to discuss is there seeing as it just works and works better than anything else? (I wrote that smiling) LOL

Sad thing is I went to mutiple LHS and all I saw was RF and FS One (yes, Phoenix was online, but I wanted to try it before buying).
I have heard many good things about Phoenix SIM, wonder why its not in more LHS?
Phoenix has a free demo http://www.phoenix-sim.com/purchase.htm
I never tried it so I don't know if it's playable or not.
Here are some screenshots I took on the sim.
I forgot to mention that Phoenix doesn't have an official distributor in the US & Canada.:(

Recently purchased Phoenix. Arrived from overseas in three days with regular shipping, very impressive. Installed on my imac with bootcamp and XP Pro. Runs great.
I heard if you order from US/Canada distributor you will wait longer as it comes from overseas, then to the place you purchased from, then to you.
Also, I emailed them prior to purchase regarding questions with my imac etc, questions answered by email within hours.
I also have Trex 500 and love being able to fly my actual bird (as close as possible) on the sim.

I know most all SIMs have online demos, but its not apples/apples when you are using your keyboard and limited portions of the software.
I went to the LHS around and actually was able to play both FS One and RF G4.
Having the entire setup and being able to use it convenced me that RF G4 was (out of what I could try) my best option.
If its $50 I will take a chance, if its $200 I am going to touch/play with it prior to using.
I dont mind buying stuff online that I have not demo'd prior, but since this is software you are stuck with your purchase not like buying stuff from Best Buy and having the ability to return it.
Just my 2cents...

I was uncertain initially before I purchased it. I kept reading great reviews etc and I love the free, yes I said FREE updates. Download all kinds of extra/additional aircraft. Runs flawlessly on my imac.
If someone bought one and was not happy with it (have no idea why they would not like it) they could easily sell it for close to what they paid based on another forum selling a couple of phoenix sims.
Also, the demo is a video only. It really ticked me off but again, once it arrived, wow!

Same set up here. Love the Mac! I ordered my sim direct from Phoenix. Got it in a couple days. Fast!

- GeorgeI understand, You want to test drive it before you buy it. Nothing wrong with that.
From the Phoenix news page v2 update coming soon.

Phoenix kicks ass!!! I'm surprised the admins set up sub-forums for other sims that i've never heard of, yet Phoenix which is easily the second most popular and by far the best, doesn't have it's own.

PitchShifter: There's some politics between the owner of this forum and the Phoenix sim, or there was I dunno. Last time we brought up this matter on another forum it got messy and needless to say nothing good came from it. I think it best we leave things as is and rather discuss our sim right here in this little thread yes? Hehehe...who knows maybe they'll even open a sub-forum for it but I think it best we don't make a scene over the matter. We can do our thing right here huh? :D
So who's got info on when V2's coming?!?!?! I'm losing it while waiting for this one, it's gonna be HUUUUGE.
