that's really nice... normally i'd charge my 3s batteries in a clay pot then just carry them in my tool box to the field :)
how much the fire resistant carrying case cost?

Damn Cobia, that is some serious charging power you've got there!

The fire resistant carrying case is really a steel Ammo box that I purchased for $15.00 at a local Army Surplus store. I lined the box with insulation purchased at Home Depot (hardware store). I separated each battery sleeve compartment with galvanized roofing flashing, therefore each battery compartment is protected in case of individual battery failure. The total for everything, including Ammo box, was $22.00.

I use 3s2200's from Xcite on my Trex 450SA, and charge them with a CellPro 4s. Very happy with this combination.

looks nice. where do you set the batteries when charging and how do you supply power to the chargers?

I picked up a hyperion duo and love it. Being able to charge two completely different batteries at the same time is really nice.

The charger leads are long enough to leave the batteries in the portable fire resistant carrying case while charging. I never have to remove the batteries from the carrying case until I put them in the heli.

I have a single set of 4S3P common sense 6Ah batteries I run in series for an e conversion Pantera 50
It takes me about three hours on my Triton II to charge the two packs so I can fly again. I could probably drop that to two hours, if I were running off a car rather than my converted power supply.

can't wait till I can get a better charger... bleah.

cobia5,

What are you using as a power source for all of those TP1010's at the field?

Portable generator, when there is not an outlet plug available.

I was thinking about getting the Hyperion charger, can't recall the exact name - its the one with dual outputs that can charge any type of battery, this way I can consolidate.

I use a TP-1010C and 210 balancer. I really love this charger/balancer. I like the fact that its dummy-proof enough for me. It yells at me to check the cell count in the balancer isn't connected, etc... :o

Plus charging a 10s A123 pack at 9.5 amps is pretty cool (my PS won't do anymore).

I think you are referring to the hyperion duo. I absolutely love it. Its basically two chargers in one and will charge any kind of battery pack (a123,lipo,nimh etc...). The TCS feature is nice too, it will charge your batteries to whatever % capacity you would like. 10 memory positions per channel...the list goes on....I can't really compare it to any other charger because its the only charger I have used.

Yep, thats the one. The dual output is a real winner to me.

Yeah so I currently am still using the stock E-sky charger that came with my bird... all I can say is it is working fine still but I can't wait to upgrade to a real charger. Just don't know if I should upgrade the stock transmitter first or the charger and battery any suggestions??

Not NEARLY as cool as what you guys have, but I charge with a Bantam BC-6 clone... the Max E-6 from Hobbycity. I use Hextronix batts and love them..... I know I know...... Its a pretty neat charger though, PC capable, external temp probe, internal balancer..... good enough until I get the FMA Cellpro 10S.

I also use a clone - a BC-5 clone. Works great, balances the cells well. I also have a stock Esky and Eflite balance charger that will do 2S and 3S packs. I regularly use these as well with no problems. They are cheap and they work well. Although having a visual display which shows time and capacity is certainly very nice, which is why I prefer to use my BC-5 clone the most. :)

I am using an Hyperion 0610 and it works great. I'm charging all chemistry with Nicd and Nimh for my daughter's truck, Lipos for my helis. A123 for my new plane. I will most probably buy a second 0610 so I can charge 2 6s A123 at the same time for my next big heli runing 10 or 12s A123.

I'm using 1 Align Lipo that came with my Trex, and 1 Air Thunder 3S 2200 25c (55 flights each) and for about 25 flights now, I have 3 outrage XP 2200 25C which gives me the best flights for time and power.

I use an actual BC-6, to charge a BatteryHobby (from eHirobo; generic Hong Kong battery I suppose) 2100MA 25C 3S Lipo, a Polyquest 2100/25/3, and an Air Thunder 2100/25/6S. The Polyquest I've modified so it will balance as a 3S when plugged into the 4S Align balancing connector on the charger; the others have the proper balancing connector.

The Polyquest often times out on a charge, whereas the BatteryHobby still charges fine.

Since I do most of my flying within a few minutes walk of home, I charge on AC.
