It's not 3D, but awesome none the less. Here is a vid of Team JR's Jeff Holsinger flying his Turbine Powered Heli at last years RDRC Fly For Tots:

Starting is computerized, with the Jetcat's you just put the throttle & trim to full for auto start and then once you back the throttle back down you get control of it. Fuel is Jet A1, 1-K kerosene.
turbines start (most) on propane up until around 50k rpm... at this point the ECU picks up the EGT at proper temp to switch over to Kero/JET A. Helis run up to about 90k on the RPM. Very little RPM is required in the helis to maintain a good head speed. Through gear reduction transmissions it achieves about a 22500 RPM @ the main drive shaft. After that its setup with a main, and a pinion just like your nitro/e machines. 90 K is fairly low speed for turbines considering fixed wings are running up in the 120K range. Alot of the guys I fly with *fixed wing hair dryers* prefer to use kerosine from Home Depot rather than JET A. JET A is super stinky, and the smell wont leave your hands for days. It also algaefies readily.
Bottom line: TURBINES ARE BADASS !

toro, you sound like you fly at the Apollo field in Van Nuys. Maybe I've seen you there before.

I don't think I'd want to fly something worth that much money:eek: But cool nonetheless:cool:
