hello, my name's bill, and im a beginner to rc electric helis.

i have purchased the blade SR, and blade mcpx 2.
thinkin i can fly the mcpx first, then later the SR.
thinkin that i dont need no flight sim cause im too proud to train for this heli stuff...
wrong...

crashed the mcpx several times, not badly though, and now using
phoenix sim to do all my crashing for the past 3 weeks.

but now, flying the real mcpx2 heli (underground parking), i can hover my mcpx and do large circles (20ft) with very little crashing. i am now using the SR model in phoenix for all my
sim practicing and i find the SR more enjoyable to fly (in the sim). i have not flown my SR as
yet outside.
my question is the following:
- should i just practice in phoenix using the SR exclusively, and get real comfortable with
it in the sim for the next few months leading up to summer ? once summer hits, say
end of june, i can start using the SR in outside flight.
- OR, should i continue practicing with the mcpx2 in the sim, and continue using the mcpx2 in
outside flight ? develop more flight skills using the mcpx2 exclusively. begin flying the SR next year...

footnote:
- im been out of this rc stuff for over 18 years. after visiting the hobby shop for the 1st time last month, i find the electric rc stuff is simply amazing. to have sub micro electric rc helis with this degree of control is unthinkable... now, just drop by the store and grab one off the shelf.... amazing...

i look forward the this coming summers flying season, to say the least.
and thanx, in advance...

Hey Bill,

Practice on the sim as much as you can, the sooner you learn orientation (tail in, side in, and nose in) the sooner you will be more comfortable flying the real thing. You can also practice with the mcpx in between sim sessions, although its durability will be reduced by a concrete floor! Don't forget, the smaller the helicopter the more unstable it is, as you progress to larger helis they will feel more stable in the air and your reactions wont have to be as quick!

Yes, I totally agree with Bill. You can never spend too much time on a sim.
