I have an HDX300, and I have to say that after spending a fair amount of time setting it up, and giving it a little TLC it flies GREAT!! it is very stable, and much quickeer than I thought. I have been able to do some mild 3D and aggressive FFF with it. I have the V3 head/tail setup and stock V3 main shaft swinging plain jane plastic (glow in the dark) symmetrical blades.
This is the first (and largest so far) belt driven heli that I have, and despite some of the negative press this little guy has received, I think it is a great little heli.
Please post your positive feedback about this little bird, including tips on what has worked for you, or info about good mods as well.
Lets give this bird the credit that it deserves.

Yea, but from what I've seen on RR, the arguing will start way before I get anywhere... :)

If you check out the HDX 300 thread there, it has calmed down quite a bit. Theres a guy working on a 3mm to 4mm main shaft mod to make it way more solid, and allow for insane headspeed compared to what it can do now.

I have one and love it. It's actually my second one as I sold off the first one. One of the best flying helis I have flown to date. Actually more stable than the 3 Rex helis I've owned. Not quite as good as my 450 HDX but pretty darn close.

Cool to hear that I'm not the only one who LOVES this heli!!! :D I think it fly's great, and is still small enough to take pretty much anywhere. I have the JGF 400 motor on mine with a 10t pinion, and the thing has power to spare. I also know a guy who is working on a mod to make the main shaft 4mm which blows the doors wide open for headspeed, power, and strength.

I have one that is 99% done. I just haven't finished the last 1% because I got caught up in building an HDX500. I also am just learning to fly a T-Rex 450. I figure I'll learn on that, then step up to the 500.
Someday I'll get the 300 in the air.

for all you HDX 300 lovers there is a monster mod to 4mm for the main shaft and 3mm for the tail shaft here (http://helistamagazine.com/forum%20phpbb%203.0.1/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=507)

I have a HDX300 V3 that I'm very close to completing. I am having a little trouble getting the head set up. Do you have pictures of the head showing the setup and do you have any measurements of the length of the linkages? Thanks!

btw, this pic is not of mine, in my case I could not mount the servo's upside down as I would get binding on the arms. My servo to swash are with the servos all upright, so shorter than in the pic (can you still see it? I cant). Either way works tho.
