Hello everyone.

So i got my heli in the mail today and was extremely excited about it (but who wouldnt be). I threw the battery on the charger right away. While waiting for it to charge i read threw the manual, checked the heli for loose screws and anything else that didnt look right, and cut the foam out of the aluminum case i got for the heli as well. When i first unboxed it i noticed 1 tail boom strut was just thrown in the case. I put it back on the heli, double checked the screws were tight and thought i was done with that. After running the first battery pack dead i noticed issue #2 (#3 really if you count the strut not installed in the first place but ill get to #2 in minute). I was missing a strut. Some time in flight it came loose and fell out. I scoured the floor and the road out front and couldnt find it. so question number 1

Whats the best method for keeping the strut in the supports? I was thinking super glue...would this cause any issues, glueing them with super glue?

Issue number 2. While "flying" i could have the throttle at full power and would barely get 6" off the ground. I know the battery gets stronger as the first couple charge cycles go by from reading what everyones posts say....but is it normal to only get 6" off the ground on the first charge? Mind you. I do have training gear on the heli (http://cgi.ebay.com/Xtreme-Training-Gear-Walkera-4-6S-4G6S-V120D01-02-05-/370506553902?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3D LVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D162336477668176980) is the training gear i have. I tried removing the balls from the gear but that did absolutely nothing to help get further off the ground. i have battery number 2 on the charger now so i will test how it does in a little bit, but i wanted to get some opinions on this while i have time to kill. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

You can certainly super glue the struts in place, it won't harm anything. As for not getting higher than 6" off the ground, that doesn't sound right at all. You should be able to zip around without any problems. Give the batteries a few cycles and see if that improves anything and let us know. The first flight I had on the bird showed plenty of power, and I was flying around on the first charge.

I tried the first charge with all 3 of my batteries with the same poor lift results....round 2 after work with the 3 of them. Hopefully it will work but im not to optimistic.

Good luck! Worst case scenario, give Heli-Max a call and they will get you sorted out if it is a problem with the heli. Here's their contact info:

Well i tried the 3 batteries on the second charge with not much better results...might have got 2 inches higher with zero wind. With about a 5-10mph head wind i got enough wind to fly over a 4ft mailbox post (luckily) and fly about 30 feet...trying the shortish hops...didnt want to drop the throttle to much and land like a rock. anyway i called heli-max who said check the volts on the battery (which they didnt think was the problem) or check if the esc/motor was getting too warm. after almost burning the back of my finger on the motor i think ive found the problem. I think the guys at heli-max called it a short day today though as its 4:40pm and its going straight to voicemail for the past 20 minutes....hopefully they relpy to messages.

In the mean time i get to go check over for broken parts...hit the ground decently hard in one of the 4-5 times i got over 3 feet off the ground and knocked the cyclic servo out and bent my flybar....yay for the learning curve and faulty parts! Thanks for the link to heli-max...made digging up a number painless.

Heli-max support is very good. They called yesterday and the new motor is enroute...hopefully that solves the problem.

Update- I called them on the 13th and come to find out they never shipped the motor....they never even had me in the system that i called and had an issue with my motor.

So the guy said he would ship me a motor out and gave me a conformation/order number (what ever it is they call it) before i got off the phone so i would have something to go off of if i have any further issues.

A few days later the motor showed up. I havent had much time to mess with it till tonight. So im installing the new motor and im having troubles lining up the motor gear with the large gear. only 1/4 of the motor gear meets with the larger gear, almost as if the motor shaft was not long enough. I decided to compair part numbers/descriptions and noticed that they are slightly different...so heres my question.

My bad motor is a Novus 125 motor kv=11,000, the new motor is Novus 125 kv=10,000. Will this new motor work or should i give heli-max a call on monday? I have no clue what the numbers mean...i suppose i could look it up but i doubt knowing what that means will turn in to anything meaningfull that i will understand in terms of electric heli's.

still waiting on a motor. I tried installing the one they sent but there was a problem with the gear on the motor. so now im waiting on a new one for the last month...called today only to find out they sent the 2nd motor to the wrong address. How they got an address i lived at for 2 months in 2007 ill never know as they have my current address or i would have never got the first motor....getting very discouraged with there support very quickly...hopefully ill have this heli in the air soon. had it just over 2 months and only have gotten 4 feet off the ground once...
