I built a T-Rex 600 Nitro and decided to go with a JR gyro for a change. I have it set up on a Spektrum DX7 with a AR7000 receiver and the gyro mounted in the back on top of the tail boom clamp. Everything is set up perfectly but the gyro seems to go crazy right before the heli lifts off the ground. It does this uncontrollable tail wag like the gain is way too high but I can change the gain from min to max and it will still do it with no difference. It happens right at a certain rotor head rpm but I can't get it to stop unless I go below that rpm. And taking off at a lower rotor head rpm would be below the engines power band.

I've actually given up but decided to order the T-Rex 600N gyro mount that goes just on top of the front 2 cyclic servos to see if moving the gyro to a different place can fix the problem. Also, unlike the Futaba GY-611, the gyro settings are all done in the radio.

I haven't seen it happen personally, but some have reported that static problems in the belt drive 600Ns that manifest themself in the gyro. It always seems to be solved by moving it up front, which is a better place for the gyro, anyways.

Mine has the shaft drive tail but I'll have the gyro mount by Sunday. Hopefully it will fix the problem.

Well I mounted the gyro up front but it hardly made any difference.:Craven::mad::(:mad::mad: I think the gyro is defective and I am going to get it fixed under warranty.
