View Full Version : 5 or 7 point curves?

Is there any advantage of having 7 points in the pitch or throttle curve verses 5?

Just tossing around the 10C or 12FG. The 10 has 7-point curves and the 12 has 5-point curves.

Thanks

Actually, the 12FG has 15 points to it's curves and the 10C has 7 points. Having more points allows you to fine-tune your pitch/throttle curve settings more. 7 points is more than enough for the average pilots, but many do like the ability to dial the curves in a bit closer with additional points. With the FG you can also eliminate points if you don't want to use all 15.

With that said the 10C is way more radio than most of us will ever need.

Hope this helps.

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. All of the on-line specs I read only advertise a 5-point curve for the 12FG.

I like the 10C but am "funny" about the dual 2.4/PCM systems and would rather have a 2.4 only. Not sure it is worth the extra $600 though.

The 7C was a big disapointment when I learned that trims do not work on the slave channel when mixing.

Hopefully Futaba will come out with a midrange 10C type radio in the future that is 2.4 only. Until then I'm on the fence. :)
