Hello all,

I've been away fromthe hobby about 5 years now. I used to fly a Raptor 30 pretty well. I was very stead with hovers and pretty good forward flight with an airplane background.

I'm looking to pick up an electric helicopter (they have come a long way since I looked at them 5 years ago). I know another Raptor would be the way to go but a new baby confines me to the backyard.

I've been looking really hard at a Blade 400. Collective pitch is a must and drive tail rotor preffered.

Any suggestions??

The blade 400 is a great package and if you need the radio it's a solid choice. If you don't need the radio, or don't mind spending a couple of extra cents, then going with something like a T-Rex or a Mini Titan will buy alot more bang for your buck.

Welcome back! I'm with JoeSay. I'd go Trex or Titan simply for upgrade parts availability. Also, since the release of the Trex 500 as well as 700, the market is flooded with Trex 450's from people making the jump so you wont pay a premium for a used bird. Can't speek for the 400 but Trex 450 with flybar weights is super stable and you don't need a lot of room to fly!

Hey, welcome back. I did that move too, but whenever I came back, I felt better. If you flew the Raptor 30 (assume you got a Raptor 30 before), you will be disappointed at the blade 400. Trex-500 has almost similar size with the Raptor 30 (assume you got a Raptor 30 before), and its flying characteristic is much better. However, it is totally depending on your allowance. :)

Na man, go with the mini-titan its built like a tank with an interlocking frame! I've owned several rex's and have never been as happy as I am with my e325! Or even the e550! I've flown both consistantly!

Thanks for the replys everyone. The Blade was very appealing but now I think I will save a little more and go with the Mini Titan and maybe a DX7 radio. Sounds like it is more like my old Raptor 30.

Thanks again,

Mike

I have to agree on the rex 450 mainly because I hav some experience with it and if you break any parts all the local hobbyshops should have align parts. The couple shops that I go to they dont have any parts for the e325. GOOD LUCK on your decision
