Which bird? Back in the day I would run the tube through the gear then just run that wire though it then wrap it around the end and put some fuel tubing over the end to keep it from undone. I kind of chuckled when I read the "Antenna" I was like what the heck? I laugh when I see guys with there lightning rods at the field.. Not many left..
LOL yeah I know me and two other guy's I know of going to IMAC contest last year are the only hold outs I know of.. But it sure has made getting my frequency easy ..LOL
I will look at doing the wire that way Thanks
Check these guys out. $12

I'm still on 72mhz and will be until I'm forced to change. I have no one flying on my channel anymore at my club.
Thanks Pete
That would be really cool if worked as advertised . Have you ever used one or any one who reads this had any experience with one of these ?
It is hard for me to go 2.4 when my 72 has served me so well .. it is just a matter of time I will have to go 2.4 LOL and this heli might just push me over the edge :)
Well I found a fix for my Antenna Problem be here March 10th :D

No more dragging around lumber and no more damn antennas. This was my last event on 72 mhz.

I have all these pcm receivers and it was a hard decision to get a 2.4 but I still have one 9303 on 72. guess now I will start collecting 2.4 receivers . I still dont trust 2.4 for my 40% though . I have witnessed to many go down on 2.4. The last one was in Houston a beautiful Carden Extra .
That said I am not bashing 2.4 and 72 has it problems too . It is just what I have used and have confidence in. Maybe this will convert me LOL

I started my conversion with my helo's also. I had to many pcm receivers to just make the switch in a day. Heck it took me almost a year. I have no fears with the 2.4 gear. I have run it in everything from micro helo;s to 50% cub. On board batts are key but in time your trust will go up. Enjoy the new toy..In my 35% Yak I am only running a single 9100 with dual batts. Works perfectly.. I subscribe to the whole KISS system.
Well it figures ! I just got my new radio in the mail and sure enough it is on the recall list :o
I didnt even get to turn it on ..

Imagine? Hey Lucky for me they sent out a recall on my 9303 before I found out the hard way. My wires were almost done for.. Dont do what I did and try and fix it yourself.. Yeah bad idea. She made the trip to Horizon after that little mishap.. DOOOOOH.. Hopefully they will make it quick.. Weather is looking up for sure..

Fred, Dont be scard of the 2.4 Lock out. Its a power issue not a radio issue. Just make sure that you use lipos and do the math of how much all your servos can pull at once, add a buffer (say 5 amps) and put that batt in your airframe. I had this issue once and had to learn the hard way. Good luck By the way if you purchase any of the old spektrum rx make sure that they have the software update this will make the rx reset much faster if you do happen to get a brown out.
Thanks for the info on the rx.
I have done some reading on the subject of brown outs and have read where it has pretty much been a power issue.
