This just in from SleepyC:
The 2010 E-FEST is over!
Hats off to the entire crew at Great Planes for such an amazing event
again this year. The weekend was jam-packed with fun events and
hot flying action: a scale contest, a 3D aerobatic demo, a 3D Heli smack
down, the "No Bull" Air races... there was no down time at the 2010
E-FEST! Even the open flying times and prize drops were simply full of
good times!
What really makes this event special is the people. E-Fest offers an
oasis in the often dull mid-western winter and an excuse for pilots to
pack up the van full of foamies and head on out to meet flying buddies
for a good time. I spotted several guys who did not bring a plane to
fly but simply came to enjoy some bench flying, share a few laughs and
spend a little time with their extended RC family! With well over 325
pilots attending the show this year the crowds were large, and I think
I can speak for everyone when I say that all the pilots in attendance
represented everything that is good about our beloved hobby.
Personally, I had a great time. I really enjoyed seeing so many old
friends and meeting a ton of new ones. This little break from winter was
just what I needed to pick up my spirits and get me excited about the
upcoming flying season. I look forward to the next show when I can once
again hang out with the RC family!
Congrats to Great Planes for another successful year of E-FEST! I am
already looking forward to the 2011 event!
