So i fly my cp pro almost religiously... 5 packs daily. Today, looks like i will be getting around 10 packs. Here is how i doubled my flying time.

I decided that i was going to "cool" the engine and 3-in-1 down on my blade cp pro, while waiting for everything to cool down. I bent over and blew on the heat sink in an effort to expedite my next flight. I thought to myself, there has to be a better way.

Nope. Not really.

So i made one.

Parts used:

A123 4S1P custom pack i made myself.
12v unnamed CPU Fan (high CFM!!)
Plank of Basswood (or balsa, i used both)
Medium CA (or whatever really)

This is my all new Blade CP Pro Icebox! Wait times down from 10-12 mins, to less than 1 min.

The air comes in across the bottom of the heli, and across the batteries (both the heli and the icebox) and goes up the back of the box. Out the fan at an angle over the 3-in-1 and motor.

I've run the fan for around a total of 5 mins today, and i put around 400 mah back in the pack. Good enough for a day of flying at the field!

Next up is rigging a good switch.

That's a pretty good idea! One hella good idea! MY blade cp is(was more like) currently all brushless and does not run as hot as it used to brushed. Another thing i did to ensure cool running inflight was to use a brushless outrunner with a built in fan. I also cut many vents into the canopy and the 3-in-1 ESC portion. I also changed the mounting for the battery so that it is at the top of the heli and slanted, that way it catches more wind from the fan.

my bcpp is still brushed, and I would love to have something like that. It get's so warm between flights.
