So I just maidened my Belt CP this morning :). Forst heli flight ever, and everything went pretty good. I've got my tail-in hovers down and I'm working on my nose-in, but I have a problem. I get this horrible tail wag no matter how I adjust the gyro gain. It came with this gyro (http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=W622359&pid=NESKY162).
Any idea's?
Thanks,
Mike

Not too sure, I would maybe try a new gyro.

Not sure either, but you could check to see if the rudder servo is functioning correctly. It might just be the servo. Sometimes they jump and bounce to inputs as they travel. What servo are you using btw?
Next i would check the tail push rod, and make sure that it is moving correctly and nothing is obstructing it.
finally check the pitch slider itself and see if it is wobbly, check to see if the shaft is bent or kinked. If it is, then the slider will stick as it travels along the length of the shaft.
Check to see if the tail turns without binding as well. lube it up with some graphite lube....

I'm pretty sure its the gyro. I had one of the crappy esky digitals in there, but I cahnged it to an S3114. I think the gyro is completely gone, it basically does nothing now and I've tried everything. Its also makes the tail servo freak out randomly. I'm looking for a nice used GY-240 right now :).

It could be the gyro, right now i use a Telebe 6g gyro and that works quite well(well priced too) but I have a HDX HH gyro i will swap it out for eventually...

I just changed it to an s3114. I think its the belt draging on the tail boom. I bent it, and bent it back straight. It is rubbing, so I'm assuming that's it.

It's still doing it :(. I also have to figure how to set this damned thing up lol. Oh well, I'll have her flying by NEAT.

A good way to set the tail is to plug the tail servo directly into the RX, then adjust the position of servo on the tail boom till it holds the tail steady while spooling it up. If it holds pretty good while the heli is light on the skids then plug the gyro in and you should be able to fine tune it with the TX trim. Also have you tried to switch the gyro to normal or reverse.

Not sure if this will help, but when I was troubleshooting a wag issue, someone mentioned to make sure your tail blades aren't too loose. They should be able to swing out freely, but should not be able to rock side-to-side. Unfortunately, I never got to see if this works because my heli was hungry and ate my motor (melted a lead somehow)

I just put on some new blades, and tightened them up to about what you said. It seemed to help. I'm gonna work on getting that servo placed as well. It just seems I don't have enough throw to keep the tail straight. I can give it full left rudder and it will still spin. At any servo location. I've tried just about everything. Gah this is frustrating...

I had a similar issue and it was the BEC overheating and the tail servo/gyro were not getting consistant power and would slip and lock. It madfe the tail wag like a happy dog. I pulled the red wire from the esc to the reciever and ran it with a reciever pack and the issue was gone. So a new ESC later all is good.
Belt tension ok? Slider working...not binding?

hey dude... I have an Art-Tech gyro from my Falcon 3D that worked for my Falcon just fine. You can have it if you want.
