Hello all. I have already ordered a 600 GF and would like some input on set up tips and some of the things to watch out for as I do the build. So far the electronics are going to be the stock Align ESC, BEC, and the 600XL motor. I also have the Logitec T6100 gyro servo combo coming alng with CF mian blades and a TP 22.2 4900 battery. I am still in need of cyclic servos, and a good Lipo charger the wont break the bank. Any advice or help with the set up and build would be greatly appreciated.

I like the Futaba S9451 servos; there are more economical options that will work, but these have been excellent for me.
For the Lipo charger, I have been though serveral and it pays not to skimp on quality since batteries are so expensive. This is a one time investment that will never have to be replaced. I have seen others regretting their choice when not going with the best charger/balancer set up. The result of improper or poor charging systems can lead to puffed battery packs, reduced life cycles and diminished capacity. Lipos can be delicate if not properly taken care of, therefore I recommend the best charger/balancer that you can afford. IMHO, the best is Thunder Power 1010C charger with a Thunder Power 210V balancer, it is idiot proof and always maintains excellent battery conditioning. Batteries last longer with the Thunder Power charger/balancer system. Batteries are too expensive to replace; it is much cheaper to make an initial good investment in the charger/balancing system (don't skimp here).

For the servos i'm using DS821, i know those aren't the best but they works for me.. (i'm just learning really slowly)... i'm planning to upgrade to S9252 when my skills require it.
I agree with cobia5 on the charger, you have to take care of those big and expensives batteries and a cheap charger is not the way to do it. I'm using the bantan BC6-10 and it works great for me. Hope this could help.

I'm planning on building a trex 600..
I only do sport flying and I'm really interested in AP. no 3d for me.
What Gyro option could I "get away with" for less money? (they're so flippin expensive...)

A 401 is the least I would go with. There are cheaper ones out there but if your building a 1000+ dollar heli why try to save 50 bucks or so. Chances are, after fighting with tail drift, hunting(wag) or other stuff you'll end up with at least a 401 anyway.

I've done a little searching and the logitech 2100T seems to be the next best thing next to the 401.
All the reviews I've read say its a solid gyro, and a few people are actually flying them in 600 class electric heli's. It seemed to be marketed to compete directly with futaba's 401 gyro.
Any input on this?

I have a 2100T/ S9254 on my E Smart and it holds well. While I'm not really a 3D pilot does the job and is easy to program. I really like it and a 104 its a good buy. Mike
