OH heck, I'll start. Here's my Raptor 50 V2 lit up with glowire.com delixe heli kit on a 3 cell lipo and MS Composite blades. I haven't done a lot of night flying with it yet. It's been my beater machine for 4 seasons and recently stepped aside to let my new 600N take the spotlight.

Sweet. The night flyng is AWESOME.
Last night here at IRCHA, the SWARM guys had 4 night rigs up at the same time.
Very impressive.

Haven't seen those SWARM guys lately. I was at their fun-fly last year but wasn't able to make it this year.

TD, We were there in force at Ircha.
You missed it, this was the very first SWARM FF with no rain.

Sleepy, wait till you see what we have in mind for next year.

Can't wait!
And I'll be prepared to bash some machines as well next year!
I HAVE to try night flying.

I'm curious how you put the glow wires on the tip of the blades? Got any pic of that?

Poring,

you can actually buy blades with lights in them. MS composit, Align, Rotor-tech, and some others have commercially available blades. There are also some home made ones out there where guys take flat copper wire, and run it down the blade to LEDS at the ends and LE of their blades. This gives you the option of a purpose built 3D blade with lighting, rather than running the typical more flexible, less performing night blade. I'll see if I can dig up some pics of the home made ones.

We ended up having a fun-fly at our field that day so I opted to stay close to home. I'd have probably had more fun if I'd come down. I spent the summer going to open FF's. They're alright, but you start to feel the resentment from the plane guys. :(

I usually like plank FFs.
My mediocre flight skills look impressive to those that do not know better.

LOL! That's why I went, too! ALthough I've made a few leaps since you guys saw me fly, I'm still far from making a name for myself. To the casual observer, though.....I'm awesome!:D;)

Cool, we will look forward to seeing you down here next year.
I have another flying demo coming up in your neck of the woods in 2 weeks.
I will be in Rosholt just east of Stevens Point on 9-6. I might bring a night ship since they never even heard of such a thing.:)

Noone here had heard of it either until I pulled mine out. It's in pieces right now because I robbed some pieces of it to complete my Vibe. I'll try and make a note to get over to the Rosholt field, I haven't been there yet. A few guys from my club go to both. I'm assuming it's a fun-fly?
