I have had my CP Pro for over a year now, and i still fly it everyday. It flies smooth and is very responsive for me. I love that little guy. I will post some pics of my heli when i get home. (at work)

Here is the list of things I've modded:

Aluminum Swashplate (E-flight)
SuperSkids
G-90 Gyro

I have some digital e-flight servos coming in the mail to replace the stock ones. They just don't center 100% of the time. No big deal really, but it will be nice to fix.

I also want to get some carbon fiber blades... as I have heard they help with its fly-ability.

Anyone else have the same luck? Pics?

I'll post another here then! :-)

I had a pretty bad crash last night... from about 50ft up my tail motor gave up the ghost, and down she went. Right passed a tree, then passed a fence, and right into my bronze bird bath with this terrifying thud. It then flipped of (idle up, woops) the bird bath and did a short chicken dance.

I dropped my head in shame, from messing up my no crash streak, and walked over to pick up the corpse.

Unfolded the blades, to find nothin wrong with it. Even the blades are good.

Gonna switch out the tail motor and go for more tonight :-)

50ft I would lose sight of a BCP at that point, I must of crashed mine about 20 times getting it to fly right. Congrats on having no damage in the crash. The nice thing about those is a crash will run about 15-20$, unlike my last crash with 600N, upwards of $400.

Last night I upgraded my servos to the new digital eflight servos: DS75H from S75

I have to tell you, this is probably the most worth while upgrade for me. It really has cleaned up the "slop" of my flying. I feel alot more "connected" to my blade also.

It was a pricy upgrade, as you can imagine. But may be a worth while upgrade for anyone who wants just a little more from their servos.

:D

Congrats on that no crash streak!
Have you gone brushless yet?
I fly a modded 2005 BCP with HDX300 3800kv BL motor, HDX300 V2 CNC head and an ELE 20A ESC.
I tell you going brushless is one of the best things you can do with the BCP. There is so much more power available
and there is no frustration of having to break in and replace old motors.
I also have the dual tail set up and my tail seems to hold pretty well in FFF and climbs

I went brushless about a year ago, and didn't like it. I returned to stock.

Of course, my skills are a touch better since then, so i may give it a go.

I have the HDX300 3800kv BL motor also, and i was using a CC10 (sport flying... never broke 8a) Pretty much with the setup i have now. It had helluva lot more headspeed which I had a problem with. It made it a lot more squirly, but i think i have the "know-how" to get it tamed down now.

I may give it a go this weekend again to see how it well it does.

Yeah, better skills make it more manageable/enjoyable, what head are you using btw?

Stock everything pretty much. I do have the CNC swashplate.

i don't think i can think of another heli with cheaper parts for fixes. There's usually some one selling a parts lot too.

I've happened to have horrible luck with this purchase, but my first experience with a collective pitch was an all stock bcpp That happened to fly rather smoothly. It convinced me to go collective from my fixed pitch learner heli.

This setup isn't going so swell, with the N60 motor on the tail, but i'll get it really good as soon as the wind dies down.

I did a PowerZone conversion on mine a couple of years ago. Found a thread over at the main RCGroups site regarding this little jewel.

It takes the main motor drive signal from the 4-in-1 and converts it to a standard signal which a brushless ESC can interpret. I had some glitches at first, but it turned out to be the firmware. The manufacturer reflashed it for me when I sent it back and voila! No more glitches. Well, almost. It does drop out on occasion, but only briefly and never long enough to lose control.

I thought I remembered reading that the latest version of the CP has, at long last, a direct drive tail rotor. Any news on that and has anyone gone to a brushless tail motor with such a setup?

Hello all...
Where can I get a clear canopy for the Blade CP? The only ones that I have seen, so far, are the grey/silver with decals, yellow with decals and a plain white one. I would really like a clear one that I can paint for myself...

Thanks,
Mark

the blade cp pro2 is going to have direct drive tail but has once again been delayed. Web site says late november now. When it is released they will be selling the parts to convert the other blades to DD for 14.99

No picture's yet? I can fix that. This is my Cp Pro. I usually fly it with a yellow canopy.
Eflite: cnc swash
Microheli: feathering shaft, main shaft, autorotation gear, and mixer arms.

I also emailed them to ask if the new main motor will work with the old cp pro, and they said no problem. The reason i am interested, is the replaceable brushes. No more replacing the entire can!

Dude... build it yourself. The CP Pro 2 is simply a CP Pro with the most popular upgrades already installed.

Mine is set up that way - N60 direct-drive tail, G110 gyro, DX7 radio system - makes a big difference, but I still would not say the thing flies really good. Save your money and get a Blade 400 or Trex 450....

At least take the training balls off for some more Blade Appreciation. They must weigh it down like a boat anchor.

N60 direct-drive tail

Where did you get your N60's? When I was flying my Falcon40 FP, I was using the GWS CX12's and looking for N30's and N60's...

It's not as important to me now because I am flying a KingII, but I am still curious...

I get my stuff from the hobby shop - don't really know where it comes from before that :)

So i ordered a battery for my Trex600, and found out i could get a battery for my Blade for free shipping. So i ordered up one to try... its a Zippy-ec 800mah 20c battery. Holy jebus... that thing really lights the blades on fire! It moves like never before... the added weight helps in flight as well... I haven't tested how long it will last though, I'm guessing around 5-6 mins. It really is a dramatic improvement over the stock batteries.

One thing I just discovered: The direct drive setup doesn't work with the old 4-in-1 from the original CP. It spins the motor too fast and no amount of proportional adjustment will noticably reduce it. $15 down the tubes, at least for now. Getting a 2-in-1 and a gyro might not be worth the expense and I'd rather invest in my other helis and planes.

The good news: I installed a new stock motor and voila! The CP has taken to the air once more after a long absence from it. I spent some time really fine-tuning the proportional and while it doesn't hover hands off, it hovers very well.

That is, until the tail motor starts to wear out...again...and I may then experiment with some resistors to lower the voltage to the direct drive. It may have to be rather high value, say 500k. We shall see.

I have been flying heli's on and off for 25+ years. Im no expert but can appreciate a smooth heli. I just bought a used CP Pro v1 and am happy I did it. It will be my everyday heli and will be in my car wherever I go. I see alot of people like them and a lot that do not. I have to say I flew a CP+ for my sons friend who is getting into heli's. If the CP Pro flies anything like the CP+, Im going to have a lot of fun with this heli. I will post more about my Pro when it arrives. Smooth flying to all!!!

I have an old CP Pro that I have purchased upgrades for over time but never got around to adding them. Now that I seen the E-Flite Huey fuse I just had to get mine going again. My upgrades include the new direct drive tail motor, Park 370 motor, Spektum receiver(so that I could bind to my DX6i) and the 2in1. Looking forward to adding the new fuse.
