What do you think about the Blade mCX? I have one on backorder (BNF version) and wanted your opinion on it. It looks nice being that it is small and I can fly it in my office at work. They have glow in the dark accessories to jazz it up a bit.

Yeah this is one I'll be getting for the same reason. I can just see me flying it around my office when I'm on a muted con-call:D

Yah... im afraid ill have one eventually also. I don't really like coaxials anymore, but this one may be just the ticket for some office warfare :-)

Does anyone know how these compare to the 5G6 Walkera? My 5G6 flies great.

these have the 110 mah batterys like the cessnas from parkzone so at least batteries will be cheap. And it will probly have the same quick charger

bcpp2 isn't on any of our shelves in socal, and the mCX is hotly anticipated here, too. Can't wait to get a hold of one. then the fleet will be

Blade 400 3D, Blade CP Pro, Blade mCX.

(Monty Burns)Excellent.

I have no complaints with e-flight but ive flown several honeybee cp2's and had a blast. But I got ahold of a few blades cp's and could'nt get them to fly good for nuthin! Maybe its just me!

I thought it might be kinda "small and boring" too... but you really have to try it. It's not a wicked aerobatic heli or something, but it provides a type of fun that the big ones can't.

Had one in my hands at the LHS yesterday. It's cute. I think the cute factor might wear off after a short time. I resisted. The owner said he had sold twelve in one day.

I think it's cool. It's the first coax that has sparked my interest. I think it's the size factor. I started with the 4#3 and am fond of that size.

I think the doggie near the end of the video was torn between running away from it & taking it down lol

Looks like a great little machine...

Yeah he's pretty used to me flying things around in here. He's kind of afraid of things like that, but he can sometimes be aggressive with things he's afraid of. I tell him not to touch it though, and he understands that. I could put a steak on the floor and tell him not to touch and he would just stare at it.

I had a chance to buzz one around the LHS the other day. What a kick, although the A/C does mess with it pretty easy would be a blast in the office.

I've had mine for a week or so. Great fun. IMO it is more stable than the CX2 and Esky Lama, it also bounces off things with out inflicting or taking damage. Bought the RTF over the bind and fly so I would not have to drag my DX7 between home and office. The little Tx is quite accurate and even has dule rates on rudder & cyclic, nice for teaching 1st timers. Hats off to E-flight

So what are some of the things that folks are running into on this bird. What's breaking, what is being modded?

Common issue seems to be unequal forward and backward speed - fixed by adjusting the servo arms.

Another common issue seems to be that people can't keep from bashing it into walls and stuff - all kinds of random things break in that case, and it seems that for some people, the 5-1 unit goes crazy... but this is after abuse, so you can't fault the product for that.

There are a lot of posts about the battery charger and how to convert it to use wall power instead of batteries. I think that's a worthwhile cause, and it's probably the only thing I don't like about mine - I have replaced the batteries 3 times.

In maybe 50 flights on mine, I haven't encountered any real problems. But I only crashed it twice.

I flew one for the first time tonight - amazing little machine! It didn't seem to have much forward Oompf, but I was still able to fly it around the LHS...

This little 1 oz. bugger is really amazing. I fly it around the living room while watching the boring evening news. I had no flight experience and the beginners mode on the remote, that makes it a little less responsive, was a help getting to learn to fly the thing. (just press the right stick straight into the remote and in beginners mode, the led will flasy)

It is currently in the hanger after the first crash that actually broke something. The top rod with the weights on it wacked something and broke the plastic hub. $5 at Tower Hobbies and quite easy to install, once I experimented to find the right two screws to loosen.

Opportunities for improvement would include making the charger base run on AC as well as batteries. Well....it is an indoor heli and there are outlets all over the house! There are plans on the forums to accomplish this.

It did not like the outdoors! I was flying it in the garage with the door open and as soon as it flew outside, it took a dive. Just a slight breeze will bring it down because it is so light.

Have fun!

i LOVE my MCX! I had a blade CX2 about 2 years ago, and i only kept it for about 6 months because
it definately got boring flying it around. NOT the case at all with this little dude! ive had mine since the first
day that they were available last year. I have put hundreds of flights on this thing, and it still flies awesome!
it wasnt long after i got it before i was trying to modify it to fly a little faster though.
I did a couple things like messing with the CG, and adjusting the control rods, but the best modification
ive done so far, was to move the weights on the flybar in towards the center hub. i moved them about
half-way in and put a drop of CA on them to hold them in place.
now the mcx flies MUCH faster and has ALOT more control response!
I also bought a little carbon fiber canopy for it, but it was actually much heavier than the stock one,
so i got my money back for it.

Thats not a bad idea with the flybar weights, I'll have to give it a try.

to get more speed out of my mcx i shortened the flybar and used dubro collars for the weights. i also installed the msr swash
